Hold off spitting the gel if you can for a full 5 minutes because the longer the wait, the whiter the teeth. After spitting out the gel brush your teeth with the toothpaste with whitening. After brushing rinse the mouth thoroughly to remove all traces of the gel. You can repeat the procedure after two hours and repeat the same in the morning before going out.

2. Other options for having whiter teeth is by using over-the-counter whitening products: brush-on whitening and commercial dental trays. A brush-on whitening contains peroxide that whiten teeth surface. Saliva can wash away the peroxide so you are required to repeat the process a lot more before you achieve the desired results. Always follow label instructions because improper use will cause the teeth to have uneven blotches. Commercial teeth whitening kits include a tray that you can use to create your own dental impression and gel whiteners. This tray works like a mouth guard, it is submerged in boiling water, slightly cooled, then placed in the mouth until it molds the teeth. When the dental tray has cooled the peroxide gel can be applied in the tray. Use your new “mouth guard” from 30 minutes to overnight depending on the stain.

Because tooth whitening and tooth bleaching products do not work for those who have tooth colored dental fillings, seeing a dentist before using any product should be the first step. Also be aware that final results will vary from person to person and his preference as to how white he wants his teeth to be. It is very possible that your teeth will be stained again and again so to maintain your whiter smile, take care of your teeth by not smoking (or chewing) tobacco, consuming dark-colored food such as strawberry, or drinking anything that contains caffeine for one week after whitening your teeth.
